Valencia Spring Auction 2016

It’s officially auction season! Please join us in celebration of Valencia Elementary as we raise money to support our students’ education.  A fabulous evening of friends, food, entertainment, and community await you!  Valencia’s spring fundraising auction is the pinnacle of our annual efforts and will surely be a night to remember.

Tickets are $45 per person. Admission for one (1) includes: A cocktail hour, access to both our silent and live event night auctions, sit down dinner, and entertainment. Get your tickets now and take advantage of on-site childcare! (Limited availability, first come, first serve)

Traditionally, the H&SC has held a formal adults-only dinner/auction to help raise much needed funds for our schools reading, math, arts, and technology programs. It has been one of the most successful fundraisers, profiting by $30-45K in 2007, 2009 and 2012. The auction held in 2007 raised money for the new play structure, while later auctions have been used for the general fund as more pressing educational needs have arisen.

Past events have been held at Chaminade and Seascape Country Club. Events included silent and live auctions, dinner, and dancing.

While highly successful, some Valencia parents criticized the event as being exclusive due to the cost of attending. The “Hukilau” held in Spring 2010 was a low key, family friendly alternative to the more expensive, formal auction events, and included a small scale auction and a raffle. The Hukilau was planned with the intent of alternating the more formal and more relaxed events each year. As anticipated, the Hukilau did not raise as much money as the gala events (profits were approximately $9K).
