Drive for Schools is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Valencia is consistently one of the top-selling elementary schools in the whole county. In 2022, we raised over $25,000 for our school—go Seastars!
What is Drive for Schools?
This year the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is teaming up with participating Santa Cruz County schools to sell tickets for a chance to win $25,000 in cash and other great prizes.
The best part about Drive for Schools is that Valencia keeps every dollar our students raise.
100% of all tickets sales go directly to supporting important programs at our school.

Please help your student(s) sell their tickets to neighbors, friends and family members. Tickets are $5 each or $25 for a book of 6 tickets.
Why is Drive for Schools important for Valencia?
Drive For Schools is our single biggest fundraiser of the year. We raise almost half of our supplemental program funds during Drive for Schools. This will be one of the few opportunities this year to raise funds for Valencia. Please give generously.
What do we do with the money?
The money we raise is used to provide reading aides for grades K-2, a program that costs almost $50,000 each year. We also give every teacher classroom supply dollars to spend on their students, provide funds for emergency evacuation backpacks, funding for art, science, and garden programs. We also support assemblies, teacher training, and purchase needed school supplies like Chromebooks, playground equipment, and more…
How do we raise so much money in just one month?
A LOT of ongoing encouragement. And that encouragement begins at home.
We need your help to:
- Help your kids sell tickets to your family, friends, and neighbors.
- Remind your kids to sell their tickets and turn in their ticket stubs and money.
- Buy tickets if you are able.
This is what you need to know:
- Each student receives 2 books of tickets to sell (12 tickets total).
- Ticket cost $5 each or a book of 6 tickets costs $25.
- More tickets can be picked up in the Valencia office or requested on the envelope when you turn in tickets and money.
- Tickets can be ordered on this website.
- Ticket stubs and money can be sent to school with your child to turn in to their teacher or turned in at the Valencia office.
- Students who turn in just one ticket will be entered in our weekly prize drawings (one entry per student).
- The sooner you turn in your sold tickets, the more likely your child is to win a weekly drawing prize.
- Please return any unsellable tickets to your child’s teacher or the office.
- All tickets must be turned in by 3pm on Thursday, October 13th.
- The Boardwalk will hold the Drive for Schools Drawing on Sunday, October 23rd.
If we meet our $30,000 goal we will have a school wide celebration!
